My Personal Manifesto
- I alone cannot change society for the better
Although we are all individual beings, by transforming the state of my own consciousness and overturning the societal conditioning that limits my personal potential. Every human being has the potential to be a master at life; it is society that dictates otherwise. Over time we can all change ourselves to the degree that society changes from the inside out, giving way to a new manner of being that then becomes the norm. - Only once we let go of the ego, are we free
The ego is a very primordial response that exists within all of us and it is characterised by fear and attachment to this physical materialistic world. Often in life, we regret decisions or make mistakes because we are blinded by the judgement and negativity of our own ego, and things become complex and the path unclear. Once we let go of this judgement and harsh treatment of ourselves and others, we can start living life the way it was truly meant for us, and with an open mind the right path will present itself in the form of meaningful coincidences and synchronicities.
- Control is an illusion
Life is chaotic and unpredictable and the only way we can let go of the anxiety of having no control, is by detachment. Only once we step back and look at life objectively and gain perspective, can then approach situations with a new insightful mindset. Once we detach from others’ choices, we realise that the only reality we can control is our own. Thus the only true concept that we have control over, is our reaction to the fluctuating circumstances that surround us.
- Nature is the original inspiration.
The natural world is and always has been the epitome of a balanced existence. Before man invented the concepts of time and other systems of existence, nature was already in existence within its own cyclic rhythms and the natural flow of energy within all life cycles, that authentically happen in the right proportion. Within modern society we have become removed from this source energy, and become numb to the own our existence and the beauty that lies within the existence of the natural world around us and through this we have become greedy and lustful as a society, whereas in nature everything is in perfect harmony and balance - nothing is in excess.
- Gratitude creates happiness
In life we are constantly seeking and trying to source the elements within our lives that fulfil us, and give meaning to our existence. Through mass marketing and the capitalist society, it is constantly perpetuated that we as human beings need to spend money and gain materialistic items in order to be satisfied. This is a false representation of the human experience that inevitably we can transcend, if only we become more grateful by starting to appreciate the very nature of our existence and all that comes with it. - Everything is a temporary experience
Life consists of a series of moments in time, created by our interactions with those around us and our involvement in certain aspects of our lives. Every moment is fleeting and so nothing in existence is permanent, not the good nor the bad, because the unpredictability and impermeable nature of life creates it to be so and that’s why it is so important to value every moment and every experience because nothing ever lasts for longer than it is meant to.
- Trust your intuition
Intuition is the ability to understand something instinctively which can transcend belief because it can only be described as a feeling rather than proved by rational thinking and conscious reasoning. Intuition is a primordial sense that has always existed within us, but only if we allow ourselves to be open to it. One cannot see clearly when one chooses fear over love.
- Creativity can only flow, once we fully surrender to the moment
Once you start to only focus on the moment and not worry about the past or the future, only then can you fully embrace the harmonious nature of reality. In surrendering to the present moment, you begin to realise that life is a balancing act and most fulfilling when we learn to embrace its dualities, the positive and the negative; totality within each other at every moment. Once we surrender to the illusion of control, we open up our hearts and our minds to new experiences, interactions and receiving creative inspiration.
- Everything and everyone is connected
The separation that exists between people, places and things is just a societal construct of illusion. We as humans have separated ourselves from one another to the point where we feel alienated by those around us which perpetuates an isolated existence. Our lives are just one big domino effect and so every action and reaction cause more momentum and creation of energy because the law of science says that energy can neither be created nor destroyed and in this way, life is just one big energy exchange, receiving and giving, absorbing and releasing. We are all from the earth, humans, animals, plants and therefore we are all of the same driving life force, experiencing suffering, love and new experiences, and through these experiences and shared emotions we can see so many more ways in that we are connected over the fact that we are separated.
- The gateway drug is not creating art, but experiencing it
Inspiration is what drives perspiration. All humans to some degree have the ability to think laterally and literally. In a society so driven by monetary gain and academic knowledge, harnessing the creative power that lies within us can sometimes be difficult on ones own and that’s why the best way to learn and be inspired, is by observing the work of others. Through the exposure to the creativity of others’ and their thought process’s, we can expand our own realm of thinking and broaden our horizons when it comes to our creative potential.
